Are you building your own subscriber list? If not, you are leaving a lot of money on the table. A list is your asset. When you have a responsive and loyal list, you can drive traffic and get business on demand. So you should build your own list and use email to stay in touch with your prospects. Email marketing is one of the most cost-effective marketing channels. With proper planning, you can use email marketing to build a strong relationship with your clients and make sales. As the saying goes, it is easier to sell to someone you know or an existing customer than to a stranger. Although email marketing sounds simple, it is not. Many experienced marketers still make deadly email marketing mistakes. Now, let me share with you some mistakes that you should avoid if you want to get results from your email marketing campaign. 1. No value in content. No one wants to receive promotional email every time. If you want your subscribers to stay loyal to your list, you must provide useful information in your emails. Send them free gifts, updates, industry tips and information. By doing so, your subscribers will have a reason to stay on your list. 2. Broadcast emails too frequently. If you broadcast emails too frequently to your subscribers, they will get irritated and mark your emails as spam. There is no hard and fast rule when it comes to broadcast frequency. If you are offering a daily forex course, you should send an email to your subscribers daily. If your subscribers are there to get updates from your company, sending an email weekly or bi-weekly will be good. 3. No call to action statements in emails to prompt subscribers to take action. Every email newsletter or broadcast should have call to action statements that prompt subscribers to take some action such as downloading a whitepaper or purchasing a product. 4. Lousy subject line. The subject line of your email is the most important. It is the first thing that your subscribers will see when they log into their inbox. So if your subject line is not well-written, they will not open and read your email. When you are preparing an email campaign, always write at least 10 subject lines. The best subject line should be something that can convey the entire email message in a sentence. Avoid making these email marketing mistakes and get more results from your email campaign.
